External Activities
The PPGMAT aims to offer its students a solid and high-quality education, comparable to the leading programs in the country. The goal is to equip its alumni to competently teach at the higher education level, continue their studies at the doctoral level in prestigious institutions, and be prepared to work in the private sector, where there is a demand for highly qualified labor with advanced mathematical knowledge.
To achieve this goal, the program's faculty maintain intense scientific interactions with researchers from important institutions such as the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA), University of Campinas (UNICAMP), University of Brasília (UnB), University of São Paulo (ICMC/USP and IME/USP), Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). These interactions include scientific visits, lecture presentations, event organization, formation of research groups, and partnerships in scientific projects.
In addition to these activities, the PPGMAT faculty play various roles in the scientific community. They serve as members of editorial boards and journal reviewers, provide advisory services to funding agencies, and participate in doctoral and master's examination committees. These contributions reinforce PPGMAT's commitment to providing high-quality education and promoting the advancement of mathematical research in Brazil.
