On December 6, 2024, the Graduate Program in Mathematics at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (PPGMAT-UFES) will host the Mini-Colloquium on Topics in Geometry and Topology, an academic event in the fields of geometry and topology, featuring lectures and short communications (30 to 40 minutes) presented by researchers from the Department of Mathematics at UFES, as well as guests from Mid Sweden University, ICMC-USP, and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
The lectures, open to the general public, will aim to promote the exchange of knowledge and discussions on cutting-edge topics in geometry and topology, specifically in Singularity Theory, Foliation Theory, Symplectic Geometry, and Complex Geometry—key areas in modern mathematics. The event will provide a learning and reflection environment for students, professors, and researchers, as well as strengthen collaborations among the participating institutions.
The Mini-Colloquium on Topics in Geometry and Topology aims to provide a common space for researchers, master's and undergraduate students, presenting new possibilities and pathways for future studies. Interaction between different levels of experience will be essential to enrich the discussions and foster new ideas and research partnerships.
